The one staple item every woman should have in her wardrobe

There are a number of items of clothing that every woman should have in her wardrobe, to form part of a ‘capsule collection’. A little black evening dress is essential, as it can be dressed up or down, with jewellery and high heels, or flat shoes and simpler accessories, according to the time or occasion that it is being worn. A classic white shirt and a pair of black trousers are also central to every woman’s wardrobe, as is a trench coat. These items of clothing are classics and do not date over the years, as can be the case with fashion trends that come and go in one season.

The classic capsule wardrobe tends to be more geared to women who are out at work, but what about those who are at home more, such as mothers of small children? They do not need to be dressed in dowdy tracksuit bottoms and loose T-Shirts – smart jeans and a flattering shirt or top will provide the basis of a workable wardrobe, and will be comfortable and practical too.

There is one item of clothing that is far more important than any of the ones previously mentioned, and it is not one that is usually seen on display. A good, well-fitting bra, is absolutely essential as a foundation to any outfit, as it will make clothes look and fit better, make the wearer look slimmer and feel more confident in them self and in the clothes that they are wearing. Women who participate in sports will need a sports bra that gives a lot of support, and women who are expecting a baby or breastfeeding, will need appropriate bras.

Most women in the UK are wearing the wrong size bra, usually too small in the cup and too large in the back. This means that no matter how fabulous your little black evening dress is, it will not look as good as it would with a well fitting bra. This is why a correctly sized and fitted bra is the most important staple item that every woman should have in her wardrobe.
